The arts community and media had a taste of this year's Awesome Festival at a lunch in Northbridge last week.

Chan's Restaurant presented a menu of multicultural delicacies and multi-disciplinary artistic endeavours to herald WA's annual arts festival for young people aged 5 - 15 years.

Daniel Chan created, among other things, chicken portions that represented Golden Gloves, a singing and dancing extravaganza from South Africa's Bachaki Theatre. French fare was served to announce Coquecigrues, the five unimaginable animals that will be let loose in Perth's serene Stirling Gardens by professional theatre artists Picto Facto.

Awesome runs from November 7 to 14.
